Mountain West Names Football Player of the Week
Boise State QB Kellen Moore, TCU S Tekerrein Cuba and PK Ross Evans honored

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Kellen Moore (Boise State), is Mountain West Players of the Week for games through Oct. 8. Moore is receiving the award for the third time in his career.
 
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK KELLEN MOORE, BOISE STATE Senior,  Quarterback, Prosser, Wash./Prosser HS Kellen Moore completed 23-of-31 passes for 254 yards and three touchdowns in just over two quarters of play in Boise  State’s 57-7 win at Fresno State. Moore’s efficiency rating for the game was  174.95 as he threw scoring passes covering 4, 18 and 4 yards.

 

NEW YORK, NY – Boise State University’s Kellen Moore established another first in his Bronco career on Saturday (Dec. 11) night when he finished fourth in the voting for the 2010 Heisman Trophy.  The announcement was made during a live event on ESPN at the Best Buy Theater in New York’s Times Square.
   
Auburn’s Cam Newton won the award with Stanford’s Andrew Luck finishing second and LaMichael James of Oregon third.
   
Moore received 635 total points, including 40 first place votes, which was the third most among the four finalists.  Moore also received 165 second place votes and 185 third place votes
Newton had 729 first place votes with Luck receiving 78 and James 22.

Moore’s fourth place finish is the highest for a player in Boise State history.  Running back finished seventh in the voting for the 2008 Heisman Trophy Award.

The award the climax of a four-day trip for Moore which included a stop at the ESPN College Football Awards Show at Disney World in Florida this past Thursday (Dec. 9).  Moore was a finalists for the Davey O’Brien Award (outstanding quarterback) and the Maxwell Award (outstanding player) at the awards show.

Earlier today Moore was named the first-team quarterback of the Football Writers Association of America’s All-America team.

Moore returns to Boise on Sunday to finish up his finals for the semester and begin preparation for the Bronco’s game against Utah in the MACCO Bowl Las Vegas on Dec. 22 (Wednesday).
